Eldorado Country Club Fiber Repair

October 21, 2020 | McKinney, TX

When arriving on site we discovered that the customer had Singlemode loose tube 12 strand fiber optic cable between their Toptracer camera system and their clubhouse at the Eldorado County Club in McKinney TX. The customer was thinking they had multi-mode 6 strand tight buffer fiber so this caused a problem for us. We needed to come back the next day with a fan-out kit in order to terminate the loose tube fiber. The difference between loose tube fiber and tight buffer is that you can put a connector directly on the end of a tight buffer cable but on loose tube you need to slide the delicate fibers into a support tube or fan-out kit to give the fiber enough support to terminate a connector to. We installed fan out kits on both ends and certified the all the pairs as good. Customer was happy with our work.

Dalworth Restoration

Politon first installed a 6U network cabinet, which was mounted on the wall with a patch panel. They also installed the customer’s network firewall and switch. From there, they installed a battery backup, which Politon mounted on a new shelf in consideration of potential water damage that could occur in the facility. They then installed a wifi access point above the main desk to ensure connectivity, as well as 6 CAT-6 network drops throughout the offices of the warehouse to provide greater efficiency towards their technological duties. Although there was much to do, Politon completed every task in less than two days in an effort to provide the best possible service for their beloved customers. By the end of the project, Dalworth Restoration was fully secure in technological services thanks to Politon.

We ran a 6 strand single mode fiber optic cable across the building, traversing varying heights and navigating around an active construction site. In addition to installing a network cabinet and switch provided by the customer, we took all the necessary network equipment and consolidated all of it inside the cabinet. There were powerstrips plugged into other powerstrips and some unused equipment that was taking up space, so we cleaned that up as well so that the customer would have a better understanding of what was in-use and powering their network. We enjoy working with El Monte RV and look forward to continuing their IT refresh.

Hide and Seek Recovery

We used a few new pieces of equipment from Ubiquiti for this project. First, because of a space limitation, the customer could not have a typical Ubiquiti Dream Machine that we usually install, so instead we used the Ubiquiti Dream Router. The customer provided us with a shelf to install which gave plenty of room for our equipment along with the Starlink device the customer was sourcing their internet connection from. For the Wifi coverage, we used the Ubiquiti AC Mesh Pro, a powerful Access Point that can provide fast internet speeds from more than 200 feet away, which met our customer's needs perfectly. We are experienced with working with Ubiquiti and StarLink products, making for an easy installation and configuring experience for us and our customer. We look forward to coming out and doing more work for Hide and Seek Recovery!

Using materials supplied by the client, our technicians installed 10 network drops in the warehouse to each workstation. We also installed 7 APs in the warehouse and one in the office to ensure consistent coverage. Additionally, we installed a new network cabinet in the office. Our technicians completed this job on a Saturday to help the client minimize these upgrades’ impact on their productivity during business hours.

We pulled two data cables and installed two Wi-Fi access points. The employees at this location let it be known that Wi-Fi coverage up until this point had been spotty and were grateful to have a new system in place. Once the APs had been installed, our technician worked with the customer's IT contact over the phone to install the new equipment and verify everything was functioning as intended. The customer was pleased with our services and will continue to use us to update their IT infrastructure. We ended up installing all the data cabling, data rack, network switch, Wifi access point, and NVR. We helped the doctor get her office up and running. The customer provided their own security cameras and NVR but we installed the cameras and the cabling back to the NVR. There were no real challenges on this project. This medical facility is located right off of Hwy 380 in McKinney, TX in a new business park. This customer was a pleasure to work with and we wish her much success.

We provided technical support to install the customer's hardware solutions for Wifi, network switches and routers, network cabinets, and UPS with extended batteries. This was a fairly small office so the network cabling for the wifi was very easy. We installed four wifi access points for the customer. They had us install a network cabinet with their network switches and routers. One challenge we had was they wanted the patch cords to look a certain way in the network cabinet. What they had shipped for use to use was too short and we needed longer patch cords to dress them in as they wanted. So a second trip out was necessary to install the longer patch cords but we think it turned out nicely.
